Introducing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Summer Edition
A quiver of luxury brands, from Rolls-Royce to Sisley, are helping Hotel Byblos celebrate its half-centenary in Saint-Tropez this weekend. But the standout contribution to this august moment must be Audemars Piguet’s special summer edition Royal Oak Offshore.
Debuting in 1993 as the amped-up cousin to its iconic Royal Oak model (the original luxury sports watch launched back in 1972), the RRO has become the grown-up’s dive watch, and is now available in a number of beach-blanket hues.
For this special edition however, the RRO gets a luscious pink gold case, as well as pink gold hands and hour markers on its “mega tapisserie” dial.
Homing in on Saint-Trop’s talismanic appeal is the brilliant white strap, the perfect complement to any true lotus eater’s summer wardrobe.
Highlighting the half-century of Saint-Tropez’ iconic hotel are the anniversary dates engraved on the case back, along with Le Byblos’ coat of arms, which depicts the abduction of Europa by Zeus. (The hotel was originally founded by a Lebanese businessman infatuated with the town's most famous female icon, Brigitte Bardot.)
